Mark Bauerlein says not “to trust anybody under 30”, this is very very wrong! If you don’t trust anybody under 30 then how will the economy work? How will people in America develop? How will people get along? He also says that we are the stupidest generation in the USA this is also strictly wrong. Yes, some people are not the brightest but we cannot assume that just because some people are not smart that the whole country is like this.
He also points out that the internet changes the way we talk by using slang, this is partly true but it is only to be more efficient with our time use. Many people use the internet to find information. There is also a word check that corrects your mistakes and tells you why.
He also says “it’s too late to bring young Americans into the culture, that they should have gotten in high school.” It is not too late as now young people can’t find cultural interests on the internet as there is a vast choice. So if something interests them they can look at it with more depth.
Yes, “they get news about what they want” but doesn’t this refer to everyone? – You only want to read about things that interest you if not you would consider it boring.
“After college there will be a bigger change” This again is true but the young generation will be smart enough to find a way through as they have already passed college- and that’s life it get tougher. Don’t you think?
