Tech Talk on the Yoshi Post~

Good evening English class and all who listens to Ms Basel.

Lately in class, we have been reading articles of "Overuse of Technology & Devices" In this blog post, i shall discuss the article in each paragraph respectedly.

Technology and the use of devices these days are so useful, we take them for granted. We abuse them, we even get addicted to them! Whether its game addiction or social addiction, peoples' eyes are going square from too much use of it. Everyone needs downtime, thats for sure. Downtime helps you to remember thing better and stop much brain activity. Downtime for everyone is needed, everyone just needs to get away from devices.

In the article of a parent hooked on gadgets, that's probbably the most surpising and yet amusing to me. Usually i thought our parents are kind of back-dated. Like technology 'blur'. Kind of ironic because now some teens can actually control themselves from tech & device overusing while adults are the who are getting taken over by these things.

There's a mother and her son in this article. The mother ignores and responds to his child, "hold on honey." Whilst the son does every attempt but gets the same response. Finally the kid snapped and bit the mother.

This article amuses me so much. But really, a child's development is very improtnant. They need to learn new words and how to speak constantly. Another Article:

An adult was baking cupcakes while speaking, texting and surfing the web. She got so engossed in her device, her cupcakes got burned! Not once nor twice but TRICE!!!

This as well amuses me. Now adults themselves can get so engrossed in devices they ignore whats happening in reality. Might as well live a Sims 3D.

The next i'm going to talk about is the effects of technology from the article 'An Ugly Toll of Technology: Impatience and Forgetfulness.'

In the article it says, "Some experts believe excessive use of the Internet, cellphones and other technologies can cause us to become more impatient, impulsive, forgetful and even mroe narcissistic." I've seen my friends and people gone through the effects of these that the article has mention.

My friend is really impatient now after i regret introducing a game called DOTA (Defend Of The Ancients). He's gone so addicted, he thinks he have powers to move forward time in school. He is really fast in whatever but he has no patience whatsoever. I pity him now actually.

Forgetfull. One of the reasons i agree on. Depends on the person, if he/she can fine downtime, i doubt his memory will worsen. Otherwise, minor things the person will only remember like small conversations. Meaningless information getting stored. Asking others what was home work and forget how to do the home. These kinds of problems.

The last one, narcissism. I think this only effects a vain or a really lonely person. If the person is vain, the person will be looking at the computer screen all day, staring at his reflection. That's really sad. So as talking to yourself on a facebook wall. Really... that's like the ultimate sadness, saying like "i'm awesome" and commenting on his own post "yes you are!" I MEAN REALLY THAT's A REALLY SAD PERSON.

As Fiona said. I myself don't think I have been effected by these things. But it really depends on the person.

The last thing this article im going to explain last is it causes people to increase their level of stress. Although i disagree in my opinion because technology has help me communicate and research better. Simply the prescence of technology and devices lowers MY stress. Same thing because it still depends on the person, whether is an adult or a teenager.

The last article i'm going to talk about is "Parents use 'digital' grounding as a 21st century disciplinary tool."

I've never recieve or ever remember when I got 'digital grounding'. Although i hear its very common to us teenagers now. Theres the common punishment of taking away facebook or any social network privileges. Or like taking away the playstation 3 from the gamer addict. The most common i heard is taking away the cellphone because its literally the basic and most important communicating device.

In the article, a woman takes away his son's facebook privileges because of his slipping grade. After a while, the boy's grades comes back up and he has his privileges back but under the condition of good grades.

This therefore concludes my blog post. Technology is now an aspect of everyday life. A person must be really strong to live without any communication device as the term, 'socially deaf'.'
