In chapter 6, Jimmy lets everything about his parents out to Bloody Jack. He tells Bloody Jack how his parents are always fighting and shouting at each other. I think Bloody Jack gave some positive and negative advice to Jimmy about the situation at home.
In my opinion I think Bloody Jack did the right thing by telling Jimmy that he is hearing things he shouldn't be. He is too young to understand what is going on at home and is interpreting things the wrong way because of this. Jimmy is mistaken a wide variety of the time and doesn't understand why they are mad at each other, for instance when Jimmy's mother was "sick" and his dad "blamed" her for "being sick".
However, Bloody Jack also tells Jimmy to not care about anything that is going on and to ignore it all. he says that "Most of the trouble in the world starts that way, Jimmy, with the people hearing or seeing something they shouldn't be. You think if you never bothered to look or see anything much you wouldn't be worrying". This advice is not very positive because if he Jimmy doesn't see or hear what is going on around him he will be lost in life and won't be able to think for himself. Blood Jack also tells him not to care about it. I don't think this is good, because Jimmy will always care about his parents-just like every kid does. If Jimmy tries not to care it will always be in the back of his head thinking what happened.
Therefore, I think Bloody Jack's advice was good and bad. Jimmy shouldn't be taking things just how he hears it and sees t in his own eyes, due to his age. But he shouldn't just leave it, and ignore it becuase in the future he will regret it.
